Upon arrival, the hotel seemed rundown and in serious need of refurbishment. The rooms were large but lacked light and character, plus the bed mattress was uncomfortable. The front door rattled all night, and there was a persistent smell of cigarette smoke. On the upside, the hotel was warm and the staff acted apologetically when faced with challenges during check-in.
